The Baltic Ambassadorial toes were a tapping as musicians Tama de Búrca and Maitiú Gaffney played jigs and reels in the Estonian capital on Tuesday 26th of October. Maitiú and Tama were supporting scéalaí Niall de Búrca as he regaled the audience with tales of Samhain.
Organised by the Irish Embassy and held in the 14th century Tallinn Town Hall; the evening was attended by members of the diplomatic corps, Estonian government ministries and Estonian business community.
Ambassador Frances Kernan introduced the evening and soon The Bucks of Oranmore and The Sheafs of Barley were wafting out across the medieval square in the heart of the UNESCO Old Town.
The concert was a great success. At the reception afterwards much appreciation was expressed to the Craobh Naithí alumni for their magnificent contribution on uilleann pipes, guitar, flute and whistles.
