Behaviour Policy

Craobh Naithí, a branch of Comhaltas was established in 1976.

Our main objective is to facilitate the promotion of Traditional Irish Music by providing tuition to young people through our classes and by creating opportunities to perform and enjoy music through a variety of social activities.

We ask our members to realise that they have a responsibility to treat other pupils, teachers and volunteers with fairness and respect.

In class, pupils should be punctual, listen to and follow instructions, and abide by the rules set down by the teacher.

Pupils should play their instrument to the best of their ability.  Consistent practice at home will benefit the pupil’s progress.

Electronic devices such as iPads, iPods, tablets, smartphones etc., are only permitted for recording tunes under the guidance of the teacher.

We are fortunate to have the use of St. Colmcilles’ Community school for our weekly music classes. We may also use other premises during the year.

We ask that all our members respect the school building, school property and grounds at all times. Please do not run or play in the corridors and classrooms.
There should be no rough play or climbing on trees, railings or walls in the ground. Particular care should be taken in the car park which is very busy.

Parents/Guardians are responsible for their child before and after their music lesson.
